01-ENG) In this tutorial is shown how to make a temporary camouflage
paint on a German helmet shell (reproduction), particularly useful for re-enactment.
First thing, put some vinyl glue all over the helmet shell.
01-ITA) Con questo tutorial viene illustrato un metodo per realizzare una camo temporanea su un guscio di elmetto tedesco (riproduzione), utile soprattutto per la Rievocazione Storica. Spargete della colla vinilica sul guscio dell'elmetto tedesco.
02-ENG) Spread the glue on the whole German helmet shell surface.
02-ITA) Spargete la colla vinilica su tutta la superficie del guscio dell'elmetto tedesco.
03-ENG) Spread some fine earth on the helmet shell before the glue
dries.
03-ITA) Senza aspettare che la colla asciughi ed indurisca, spargete della terra ridotta in polvere e spargetela sul guscio dell'elmetto tedesco.
04-ENG) Repeat steps 2 and 3.
04-ITA) Ripetete i passaggi 2 e 3.
05-ENG) Here below the result of several layers of vinyl glue and fine
earth. Let it dry, so that you will have a rough textured layer you can remove
simply scraping it without damaging the base paint with acids, glass paper or
lacquer thinner.
05-ITA) Qui sotto il risultato di passaggi di colla vinilica e terra ridotta in polvere. Lasciate asciugare ed indurire il tutto. Così facendo otteniamo una superficie grezza che potete rimuovere in un secondo tempo semplicemente "spellando" lo strato di colla vinilica indurita, senza così danneggiare la verniciatura di fondo utilizzando sverniciatori, acidi o carte vetro.
06-ENG) Paint –with brush or spray- the camo scheme you wish on your
German helmet shell. In this example we have made green stripes on sand yellow
base.
06-ITA) Verniciate a pennello o a spray la camo sul guscio dell'elmetto tedesco con i colori che desiderate. In questo esempio abbiamo realizzato delle striature verdi su un fondo giallo sabbia.
07-ENG) Let it dry; here below the result of the camouflage paint applied
on the vinyl glue and fine earth layers.
07-ITA) Lasciate asciugare e qui sotto il risultato della verniciatura camo sullo strato di colla vinilica e polvere di terra sull'elmetto tedesco.
08-ENG) For an additional “combat look”, my advice is to add some brick
dust on the surface of the German helmet shell. Spray some matt varnish and
add some dust before it dries. Here below the result. If you wish to remove
the camouflage, you can have back the original base paint by simply scraping
it without damaging the base paint with acids, glass paper or lacquer thinner.
08-ITA) Per dare un look realistico da fronte, il consiglio è di fissare della polvere di calcinacci e terra sulla superficie del guscio dell'elmetto tedesco. Passate uno spray trasparente opaco e senza aspettare che asciughi spargete della "sporcizia". Qui sotto il risultato ottenuto. Se volete rimuovere la camo, potete tornare alla verniciatura di fondo colore feldgrau semplicemente spellando lo strato di colla vinilica indurita evitando così sverniciatori, acidi e carte vetro, metodi necessari invece se la camo fosse stata dipinta direttamente sulla verniciatura di fondo.
