01-ENG) In order to apply a water transfer decal on a German helmet (a model 40 helmet as shown in the example) you will need scissors, cotton buds, some water, a sponge, and of course the decals you wish to apply (in this example we will be applying the Heer national shield).

01-ITA) Per applicare una decal a trasferimento ad acqua su un elmetto tedesco (nell'esempio in foto utilizziamo un modello M40) necessitate di forbici, cotton-fioc, acqua, una spugna ed ovviamente la decal o le decal che volete fissare (per questo esempio fisseremo lo scudetto nazionale Heer).

02-ENG) Clean accurately the helmet shell area on which you will apply the decal shield using the sponge. In this case we will be applying the Heer national shield only, so the interested area is on the right side of the helmet shell.

02-ITA) Utilizzando la spugna pulite bene la superficie del guscio dell'elmetto tedesco dove volete fissare la decal. In questo caso fisseremo la sola decal dello scudetto nazionale Heer, quindi lato destro dell'elmetto.

03-ENG) If you want to avoid having the transparent outline of the shield accurately cut around the decal.

03-ITA) Se volete evitare la bordatura trasparente della decal, ritagliate con precisione la decal lungo la sua sagoma.

04-ENG) Take the decal shield, put it in the water for a few seconds (in a cup or glass) until the shield starts bending as you can see in the following pictures.

04-ITA) Prendete la decal, immergetela per qualche secondo nell'acqua (dentro una tazza o un bicchiere) fino all'incurvarsi della decal come vedete nelle foto seguenti.

05-ENG) When you take the decal out of the water wait for a couple of minutes so that its glue reacts accordingly. Make the decal shield slide from its base layer onto the helmet shell using a wet cotton bud. Make notice that the shell surface on which you wish to apply the shield is wet, so that the decal can slide without breaking.

05-ITA) Appena tolta la decal dall'acqua, attendete 2 minuti circa affinchè la sua colla reagisca in modo appropriato. Con il cotton-fioc bagnato, fate "scivolare" la decal dalla carta sopra il guscio. E' importante che la superficie del guscio dove volete applicare la decal sia bagnata, così che possa muoversi senza rovinarsi.



06-ENG) Move the decal shield in its right position using a slightly wet cotton bud (always make sure the helmet shell is wet).

06-ITA) Utilizzando il cotton-fioc inumidito, trascinate la decal nella posizione desiderata facendola scivolare sul guscio sfruttando l'acqua presente tra il metallo del guscio e la pellicola della decal.

07-ENG) Dry the surface and get rid of air bubbles (if any between the shell surface and the decal) using a slightly wet cotton bud.

07-ITA) Con il cotton-fioc inumidito, tramite vari passaggi a pennellate sulla decal (dal centro verso l'esterno) rimuovete l'acqua ed eventuali bolle d'aria presenti tra il guscio e la decal.

08-ENG) Get rid of the water by blowing hard. Repeat the last two steps until you have the decal shield stuck firmly to the metal surface of the German helmet shell.

08-ITA) Soffiando forte sulla decal allontanate l'acqua. Ripetete questi ultimi due passaggi fino ad avere la decal ben aderita e piatta sul metallo del guscio dell'elmetto tedesco.

09-ENG) Let the decal shield dry for at least 12 hours.

09-ITA) Lasciate asciugare la decal per almeno 12 ore.

10-ENG) It is recommended to spray some matt varnish for further protection of the decal shield. This step will also help as it removes that glossy finish typical of sport cards.

10-ITA) Per una maggiore protezione della decal è consigliato dare un pò di spray trasparente opaco. Questo passaggio aiuterà anche a rimuovere in parte l'effetto "figurina" della decal replica.
